Experience a Luau and enjoy Old Lahaina Luau, a traditional Hawaiian Luau. The food is excellent and the entertainment is even better.
Visit Haleakala National Park and peek at the crater! The long but pretty drive is an added bonus as it is ABOVE the clouds! TIP: Dress warmly! Take extra clothes and enjoy the view. It’s possible you may experience two sun sets… once from the clouds and once on flat land!
Enjoy a meal at Humuhumunukunukuapua’a and order the hand caught Hawaiian Spiny Lobster. It is one of the best meals I have ever had and the beach views are amazing. What else would you expect from a floating restaurant?
Take a catamaran and snorkel in the Molokini Crater. So many exotic fish! This five hour experience included breakfast and lunch and LOTS of turtle sightings!
Stay at the Grand Wailea. I HIGHLY recommend this property for any traveler because it offers plenty…fine dining, numerous pools, seven water slides and a large beach. This resort is not the newest but it has been well maintained and looks brand new.
Enjoy meal at Alan Wong’s restaurant, Amasia and order the pineapple shaved ice for dessert. There is NO ice in this dessert. The pineapple is shaved and frozen. It appears to be flavored ice but it’s the real thing and it is AMAZING!
Drive the road to Hana. This was one of my favorite activities! Imagine a day without an agenda… just fun. Rent a convertible and experience this ride listening to Hawaiian music! Stop at the waterfalls and even jump off a few! TIP: Pack a picnic and start early! We made it to Hana and as the reviews say, you aren’t really on this journey to get to Hana it’s all about the road. It took about 30 seconds to go through the town.
Drive two more miles to the Falls. My favorite part of the day was our two mile journey (beyond Hana) through a bamboo forest to see the magnificent Waimoku Falls. It is the largest waterfall on Maui and it is worth the trek!
Swim in the Seven Sacred Pools. Sometimes, they are clearly defined and you can swim in the separate pools. There are multiple waterfalls as well. We loved the experience! Keep going! Several reviews say to turn around and go back the way you came but don’t do it. Keep going! It was absolutely breathtaking and we circled the island. The rolling hills with cattle and views of Haleakala on the right and the ocean on your left was beautiful. It was a long day (about 9 hours) but so worth it and I would do it again! Hawaii is a fabulous and rejuvinating destination! Courtney
Hula Grill in Whalers Village (Kannapali)
Lahaina Grill (Lahaina)
Maui Taco (A chain restaurant but by far the best fish tacos)
