Business Valet Parking: An Airport’s Best Kept Secret

Airport parking has always been a game-time decision for me. It depends on how early or late I’m running to catch a flight (don’t tell Ricky). Most major airports offer different parking levels based on travel duration and budget. I’ve tried everything from Curbside Valet to the Long Term Lot that feels like it’s in another state and at the Charlotte-Douglas International Airport (CLT), I think it actually is. After years of trial and error when flying out of CLT, I’ve become a loyal Business Valet Parking customer. Now, I would not consider parking anywhere else. I did not fully understand the concept until I gave it a try – so let me explain.

The Business Valet Parking Garage is located two minutes from the terminal.  A valet attendant greets you upon arrival, gets your basic information including when you are returning and helps with your bags. A short roll away, you catch the shuttle that runs continuously. I’ve never waited more than two minutes going or coming, and they are always clean. The shuttle takes you to the terminal and drops you directly in front of your airline’s door. Tip to remember: when you return, catch the shuttle back to the Business Valet Center upstairs at the Departure Doors. You pay for your parking in a well-lit facility and your car is waiting for you at the curb.

Road warriors will appreciate that you can get your car washed/detailed, oil changed and/or your car inspected while you’re traveling. There is also the peace of mind that your car is parked in a garage that is monitored continuously and away from the elements. Other perks for me include, not worrying that I forgot to take a picture of the lot and zone where I parked (inevitably happens when I’m running late) and someone else is managing my keys while I’m traveling.

The valet attendants are always friendly, helpful with loading and unloading bags (important for those of us who tend to push the 50lb limit) and the check-out process is quick and easy. The charge for Business Valet is $14/day which is reasonable for what you get compared to Daily Parking.

Next time you travel, check your local airport and if they offer Business Valet Parking, give it a try! You won’t be sorry that you did.
