Need an idea for a birthday or anniversary weekend? Have your college students come home for the summer and a weekend away with your spouse sounds wonderful? Look no farther....
The Francis Marion Hotel … A delightful historic property located just out of the shopping district on King Street. The Hotel was very gracious in upgrading me to a suite. And I mean sweet… 12th floor view over the battery about a mile away. Modern upgrades with "Old Hotel" charm. Beautiful lobby with understated bar but very warm living room feel with balcony area overlooking the lobby. Only drawback was the size of the bathrooms - on the small side. Not only a vacation destination but a great hotel option for meetings as well. The grand ballroom takes you back in time to Old Charleston.
Fulton Five…A small restaurant about ten blocks from the Francis Marion. You must have reservations and it was recommended by our Senior Meeting Planner Emily Verheyen. Now, it is recommended by me too! David was our host and did a spectacular job on affordable wine selection and recommendations on food. All food, beef, fish, scallops, olives, pasta were great. According to Fulton Five’s website, it has been voted Charleston’s “Most Romantic Restaurant” for 13 years in a row. Sally should have come on this trip!
