Jim and I were married last month and honeymooned on the fabulous island of Anguilla (ang-gwil-uh). The island is absolutely beautiful with dozens of explorable bays. The CuisinArt Resort & Spa on Rendezvous Bay was ideal! It has a Mediterranean feel and the service is top notch.
The beach is gorgeous with soft sand and beautiful blue water. Homemade sorbet is offered to all beach visitors each afternoon and 2 for 1 cocktails are offered during Happy Hour.
Each day on this beautiful island was an adventure! We rented a car and with map in hand, we explored. Shoal Bay is a wonderful place to snorkel and have lunch on the beach. There is a fee to use the lounge chairs but the snorkeling is good and the scene is lively. Lunch at the Madeariman at Shoal Bay was a treat….conch fritters and a pizza!
Catch the boat to the small and secluded Sandy Island at Sandy Ground Bay. Once there, visit the beach hut that serves the freshest seafood. Spend the day relaxing, snorkeling, and feeling like you are on your on deserted island!
Bachelor fans may remember Little Bay with its caves, large rocks and secluded beach. Again, with map in hand, we set out to find this special place. We almost gave up, settling on Crocus Bay, supposedly next to Little Bay. After relaxing and swimming for a while, we decided to venture out one last time on a kayak in search of Little Bay. Twenty minutes
later…treasure found!
Little Bay was well worth the search! It is one of the most beautiful places we have ever seen. The large cliffs, caves, and private beach are something that you dream of… but never think REALLY exists. The $10 rental for our kayak was one of our best investments of the entire trip.
We spent the rest of the week exploring different bays but ended every afternoon at CuisinArt with our sorbet, soft sands, and refreshing clear blue water. CK
