Aladdin recently planned a meeting at The Sanctuary at Kiawah, South Carolina. What a wonderful destination…. The grounds are beautiful; activity is everywhere, the food delicious and the service impeccable! I came away very rested even if it WAS a “working” vacation.
Crossing any bridge to an island triggers relaxation for me. The same happened at Kiawah. This wildlife heaven does a wonderful job of mixing with the resort world. The shops, golf, tennis, bike paths, pools and restaurants provide
several places to take it all in. Even while sitting on the beach, you will see plenty! Horseshoe crabs were abundant during this visit along with several shore birds.
For us, each morning began with a 20 mile PLEASANT bike ride. It was an easy way to squeeze in some exercise before enjoying lunch at the poolside
Loggerhead Grill. Afternoons on the beach lead to dinners at the Atlantic Room (Tip: Have drinks or dinner on the porch and enjoy a beautiful sunset!), the Jasmine Porch (Fabulous! We ate inside, but you can eat outside overlooking the pool also!), and Tomasso (Tip: This Italian restaurant is wonderful. Try to get a table overlooking the golf course and herb garden.).
All of this is possible, even if you ARE working, especially if you squeeze in a few extra days before OR after your meetings. Imagine….working and feeling pampered….The Sanctuary at Kiawah can make it happen!
