Tasty lunches in Chicago!

Business Trip?   Shopping Trip?  You HAVE to eat lunch!   Three great places come to mind.  You won’t be disappointed!

Are you craving a Chicago “dog” ?  Head to Portillo’s on West Ontario.  Hotdogs any way you like! Each Portillo’s has a theme.  The Chicago restaurant….30s, 40s and gangsters.  Quick and entertaining service!   The hotdogs are tasty and if a hotdog isn't for you....there are other choices!

How about a sandwich and chips?  Head to the Corner Bakery Cafe!  It’s on the corner of St. Clair and Erie.  We have eaten there a couple of times. Both times were a tasty break from meeting and shopping and the wait staff was patient with Southerners!  Take note of the “Don’t feed the birds.” sign.  They mean it.  Last year, someone dropped a BAG of birdseed on the street beside us.  Do you remember Alfred Hitchcock’s, The Birds?   Don’t feed the birds!

How about a sandwich, chips and a WHOLE pickle on your plate?  Head to Fox and Obel Food Market on East Illinois Street.  It has a great little market attached to the restaurant.  Browse the market, order your lunch, escape and re-energize for the rest the day.  Ricky and I had lunch there before we rented a Tandem Bike from Bobby’s Bike Hike, right around the corner. We had enough energy to ride 25 miles along the Lakefront Trail! That's another “must do” when you are in the Chicago area!

Great food! Great experiences! Contact Ricky if you have questions!
