Traveling three days after Christmas...Up early! Bags? Check! Security? Check! We are ON TIME!
Excuse me ladies and gentlemen....the FIRST OFFICER has called in sick. 2 hours later.... We hear the flight attendant say...the first officer overslept. OOPS!
So many people have to be re-routed! Still, I enjoy traveling. People are frustrated. Nothing like trouble to bring people together. If we're in the same boat...on the same airplane...we might as well share stories. "Where are you headed? Vacation? Going home? Did you have a nice Christmas?" The plane lands. "Enjoy the rest of your day and best of luck making your connections!"
We get to our gate. The lines are long. People have migrated to every electrical outlet. Most are charging computers and cell phones. A young woman is straightening her hair. Many are on laptops...I am.
Some are sleeping and one woman is gently holding her toddler's sleepy head. Yawns…Starbucks…Fast Food… Cellphones…Rolling Bags...Beep beeps...so many people! A blind man just walked by holding a young man's shoulder….Nothing like travel to open my eyes.
