Hotel Plaza Athenee is spectacular. Boutique apartment rooms. Great restaurant, Arabelle. If you ever want to do NYC like the rich and famous but not be bothered with other folks, this is it! Now is a good time stay at this property. It is located on the east side of Central Park at 64th Street and the rates are still low.
Club Quarters has three properties from which to choose! For the Corporate Traveler... You have to join The Club. Contact Ricky to discuss.
Club Quarters Rockefeller is well located at Rockefeller Center, 25 West 51st Street. It is near Radio City Music Hall’s north door, one block from the Rainbow Room/NBC and one avenue block from Times Square. New room, small (twice the size of a state room on a ship) and clean! Check-in is a self service kiosk and the bar closes at 10. The location may be a bit unsettling to women as it IS self service and you do feel a bit alone in the lobby and halls.
Relieve stress from the day in the workout room. It is small and clean…just like the rooms…about 8 machines. I chose to run outside. I was in New York City and wanted to see Central Park and Times Square (Two FREE things to do while visiting NYC!). I ran, returned and did not see a hotel employee. Now that is different! Remember, I mentioned that it is a "self service" hotel. Club Quarters Rockefeller is not a real good place to entertain but could work if it had too. The restaurant and bar are quaint. Clean and did I mention- self service. No one bothers you, even when vendors are present.
Club Quarters Midtown is another well located property in Midtown at 40 West 45th Street, between 5th and 6th Avenues. Much nicer entry with restaurant and large living room like sitting area. This feels more like a hotel than the self-service Rockefeller Center property. All rooms are comparable to small Courtyard by Marriott rooms. They feel clean, fresh and very business functional. Small workout room… 4 machines with TV in the basement.
Club Quarters Wall Street is approximately 1 short block to NYSE at 52 William Street (Between Wall and Pine Streets). Same room layout as others. Entry is inviting like Midtown. Exercise room is small with 6 machines and a TV.
Club Quarters hotels are a good alternative for the cost minded traveler. They are clean, consistent and tailored to the business traveler with free bottled water and internet access. NOTE- They will bring a treadmill or stationary bike to your room but you may not need to work out while there. You must walk at least a block to find a cab from all 3. These are not "Club" properties in the sense of private wood paneled exclusive venues. They are designed to provide a clean, quiet and safe location for a business traveler to sleep! The image of a Fairfield Inn or Courtyard Hotel would be appropriate.
