Memorable Meals!

Some of Aladdin's most memorable meals!   Read and enjoy.  Better yet... read, enjoy and do the same!

Nancy: Two of the best meals I’ve had in my life were in the Atlantic Room in the Ocean Course Clubhouse at Kiawah!  And both times we had toddlers.  The view is magnificent – beautifully green grass rolling out to the ocean where the little people could run barefooted forever.  We were outside overlooking the green.  And the food was superb!  The staff were so welcoming and accommodating and very attentive.  Worth the cost!

Emily: Jason and I stopped at the Fat Hen on our way to the airport yesterday for the best brunch ever!  Situated on Maybank Highway it is the perfect meal stop coming or going from Kiawah.  Its modern Southern Cuisine with a French bistro atmosphere.  Locally sourced ingredients, quick and friendly service and hands down the best French fries I have ever tasted.  An excellent stop for brunch, lunch or dinner (and a lot less expensive than anything on island….)

Gigi: My daughter and I drove our golf cart from our hotel to Sweet Basil, in San Pedro, Belize…a 20 minute ride. It was hilarious because at one point we had to cross over a small stream on a floating raft. We forgot to put on the cart's breaks and almost rolled into the water. The raft attendant wasn't amused. Had lunch on the second floor porch overlooking the ocean. Gourmet tuna salad sandwiches and sweet tea. Great food and great memories!

Emily: My favorite was without a doubt at a little restaurant on the water in Portofino,Italy. It was a simple pasta dish with pink sauce & peas. I don't know what they did to it, but combined with freshly grated parmesan and the homemade foccacia bread, it was my most memorable meal ever and one of the main reasons I can't wait to go back to Portofino.

Ricky: Sally and I enjoyed drinks and dinner at Bar La Terrazza at Hotel Eden in Rome. Everything was spectacular. The pasta dish was quite Italian and the lights over the city as night fell contributed to a memorable evening.

Catherine: Castello di Verrazzano!  Nancy, Emily, Jason and I traveled to Italy and did a half-day wine tour from Florence in the Chianti region.  We spent a lovely afternoon at the Verrazzano winery and enjoyed an amazing meal made from foods grown on the estate paired with their wines.  It seemed like every single course (of the many, many courses) involved wild boar raised there on the estate: homemade salami, ham, ragout over fresh fettuccine, etc – and it was all delicious.  It was a memorable meal and a wonderful way to experience Chianti.

Julia: David and I went to Maui a few years ago and our helicopter pilot recommended the Paia Fish Market.  Just a hole in the wall but absolutely the best fishburgers I have ever, ever had! Nothing fancy but delicious.  It is on the road to Hana so very easy to find.
