Around the World In Las Vegas!

A business trip recently led us to The MGM Grand in Las Vegas. It was a fantastic Travel Meeting and let’s hope what happened in Las Vegas didn’t stay in Las Vegas. Ricky, Caroline and I were eager to return to the office and share. I have to admit though, that in between meetings, we did A LOT of sight seeing and if you have never been to Las Vegas, there is a lot to see….and hear. Think sensory overload.

Ricky and I discovered the Guinness World Book’s LONGEST road. Las Vegas Boulevard. It goes AROUND the world and back! Truly, I have pictures to prove it. Before we even left the hotel, we had seen a “rain forest,” a lion’s den, and of course, a Starbucks. Upon exiting, we arrived in New York (think Statue of Liberty and the Brooklyn Bridge). Passing Hollywood, we saw the Eiffel Tower and the Arc de Triumph. A few casinos added color along with an array of delicious snacks. A light lunch at Serendipity 3 (right outside of Rome) gave us the perfect lift to continue our journey. Venice soon followed as we watched the gondolas float down the Venetian’s Grand Canal.

Many hotels add to the skyline and the world tour…New York New York, The Aria, The Bellagio (DO NOT MISS the lobby ceiling and fountains!), Paris, Caesars Palace (“live” statues), The Wynn and Encore, The Palazzo, The Venetian (complete with a Grand Canal and gondolas), Treasure Island (the one with the pirate ship and show out front!), and of course, The Trump.

Do you like to shop? Las Vegas is shopping on steroids. DO NOT MISS The Forum Shops at Caesar’s Palace or The Grand Canal Shoppes at The Venetian. You don’t need to spend a dime to come back with a great memory. Grab a bite to eat along the canal and enjoy listening to the gondoliers sing!

We stayed at the MGM Grand. Great place for those who like BIG! REALLY BIG. Not my favorite. I felt a little bit like a mouse in a maze. At one point, I counted 18 hotel employees checking guests into the hotel. REALLY BIG. For the next time book….I want to stay at the Venetian…the Palazzo….or…the Bellagio!

If you have never seen David Copperfield….do it! The show is at the MGM Grand and he leaves the audience wondering…How did he…?

And finally, Elvis really is alive. We saw him. Questions? Ask Ricky!
