Long known as a playground for the "rich and famous", St Barths delivers on the hype. Without the agricultural history of many of its neighbors (the hilly terrain here is not conducive to farming), the island was discovered as a beautiful place to visit and has remained a beautiful place that attracts beautiful people.
The port of Gustavia has a few tacky souvenir shops, typical of many Caribbean ports. The CLEAN streets are lined with designer boutiques. Every one seems to have an outpost, Chanel, Hermes, Louis Vuitton. As the saying goes, if you have to ask how much, you probably can't afford it. If you have to ask how much, then you probably shouldn't be vacationing in St Barth. EDV
Editor's note: Emily sent an email to the rest of Aladdin...."I am here to testify that St Barth’s is the most wonderful spot on earth." SHS
