What a view! The sunset from our balcony at the Hyatt Regency Maui was beautiful. We loved the Hyatt. It is on Kaanapoli beach. The grounds are gorgeous and the hotel is nice, but be careful requesting a room. Some mountain/garden views are more like parking lot views. So…make sure your pictures are as memorable as the one you see! Our room was ocean front with views of the sunset over Lanai and Molokai. That is what YOU want!
We spent a couple of days in Wailea at the Fairmont, which is a fabulous hotel, especially for families. It is all suites, plus they have villas with full kitchens for folks who want a longer stay and have the freedom to cook for themselves. Wailea is Palm Beach compared to Kaanapoli’s Myrtle Beach. They have high end designer boutiques and several luxury hotels. We did a half day snorkel trip out to the Molkini Crater and swam with the sea turtles, something I had never done before. It rained almost every day, we were there… November… never very long and it was always sunny somewhere on the island. We had a fabulous meal at the Lahaina Grill in downtown Lahaina and did a site visit to the Best Western Pioneer Inn. Great budget hotel in the middle of downtown for folks looking to save money and who don’t care about being on the beach…..
