This summer I had the pleasure of spending two weeks in Kiawah. I am not a golfer, so you might ask..." How on earth I was going to keep busy in my down time?" The trip involved some work too! I can tell you that two weeks was not nearly long enough to explore all the island
has to offer. In addition to many walks on the beach and bike rides around the island looking for crocodiles, we spent several afternoons by the pool at The Sanctuary. They offer 5 star service, a variety of frozen fruity beverages delivered right to your chair and an amazing menu of sandwiches and snacks. After fending for ourselves for most of the time in a rental villa, our afternoons at the Sanctuary pool felt like vacation the way it was meant to be!
A side note for travelers, villa guests are not usually allowed to use the Sanctuary villas, it is typically only open to hotel guests. Aladdin can offer you exclusive amenities and special rates when booking a room at the Sanctuary. Call us today to find out more!
The restaurants on Kiawah tend to all be pretty good, but on our last night there, we discovered the best one yet. The Atlantic Room at the Ocean Course Club House could serve dirt and it wouldn’t matter because the views from the wide front porch over the end of the island
and the Atlantic are just spectacular! Couple that with a joggling board and lots of rocking chairs, a glass of wine and a gorgeous sunset and I was sold. To top it off, the food was actually amazing. They have a raw bar and serve oysters and sushi as well as more typical southern fare. If you aren’t up for eating inside, they will serve you on the porch from the Ryder Cup bar. With three children under the age of three in tow, we opted for outside so they could run free while we enjoyed the view and the wine! Contact me!
