Charleston! Don't make me go. Especially in the spring. If you have ever been to this charming city, you know that ANYONE would jump at the opportunity to visit...anytime....but ESPECIALLY in the spring! Business meeting where...? Charleston...I'm in!
The Meeting Street Inn is perfect for business travelers. It is easy to find and within walking distance of downtown Charleston. The rooms are simply southern with all the normal amenities and parking, although it costs, is convenient. The ease of connecting to the internet at The Meeting Street Inn was greatly appreciated.
When we weren't "meeting," we enjoyed the treats that make the business traveler think vacation. Breakfast is included and we enjoyed it in the small courtyard outside, complete with confederate jasmine and fountains. The afternoon reception and the outdoor spa/pool looked rejuvenating, but we ran out of time. Tip: Always pack a swim suit.
When one thinks of Charleston, Rainbow Row usually comes to mind. We did a little "appetizer" jumping for dinner and realized that Charleston has a good "restaurant row" too! Check out High Cotton, Magnolia's and The Peninsula Grill. There are plenty within walking distance of The Meeting Street Inn so enjoy!
Although there is no exercise room at the hotel, a workout is only a few steps away. The early morning walk was beautiful and a great way to start the day. Lots to see and do, including museums and shops! We were a little late for the azaleas, but the jasmine was in full bloom. Charleston's garden alleys are like streets in European villages...a treat for the eyes and a photographer's dream.
